Renovation FAQs
How much does a standard kitchen installation cost in London?
This can vary widely depending on several factors, including the complexity of the installation, the quality of materials used and the specific services included. The cost of a kitchen renovation in London would be £6k-9k, excluding VAT. Here we’re including the labour and building materials for the rip-out, cabinetry installation and all plumbing and electrical work. However each project is unique, and flooring, structural work, and project management all play into the cost.
How many contractors should I ask for quotes?
We encourage you to schedule site visits with 2 or 3 contractors. Each of them will quote on your project, and you’ll then have the information you need to hire with confidence.
How do I save money on my kitchen renovation?
You should always look to save money on your fixtures and fittings rather than on the contractor. Build and installation quality will only improve your home as an investment. Cabinetry is the most expensive element, so shop savvily with this – our kitchen remodelling contractors have relationships and trade discounts with local worktop and tile suppliers, which can help you save on your dream kitchen without compromising quality.
What size of contractor is suitable for my bathroom renovation?
This depends on your personal situation. If you have renovated before, are confident with your procurement of fixtures and fittings, and happy to take on a little more risk with regards to budget and timeline, then using a sole trader is a competitive option. If you want more security and can afford it, we would recommend using a small bathroom installation company for extra peace of mind. Our renovation experts can guide you through choosing the right fit.
Is The Page free? How do you make money?
We are absolutely free to the homeowner! Our contractor partners pay us a commission when they’re hired through our platform. Because we match them with a steady stream of projects, they’re especially motivated to keep The Page’s homeowners happy.
How do I compare my quotes?
Since contractors don’t all have a standard quoting format, each quote requires some translation. Don’t make a decision purely based on the bottom-line number, it’s so important to identify what each contractor is offering in their quote. There will often be significant differences! The process can be overwhelming, which is why we encourage homeowners to use our free quote comparison call.
