The Page Extensions: Tenders done properly, so you pick the right builder
A schedule of work and a true quote comparison, means you pick the right builder and management.
WHY THE PRE-TENDER STAGE MATTERS
Most renovation horror stories start
before the build even begins.
You send your drawings to three builders. You get back three wildly different prices. One has the kitchen in, one calls it a “PC sum,” one forgot the bathroom. Scaffolding is in one quote, “tbc” in another, missing from the third.
Nobody has written down exactly what’s being built, so everybody guesses, slightly differently. You carry the risk of the difference. That’s the gap, and we’re here to close it.
Six steps, before a single brick is laid
A line by line scope, written for you
We walk through your drawings with you and write a detailed schedule of works. Every wall, fixture, door, cable run.
Pressure tested against your drawings
We read it through with you, line by line. £10,000 surprises in week six get caught now, not later.
The Page and Pagers do site visits
Three vetted Pagers visit your site. Anything else worth catching goes back through us to tighten the schedule.
A clear comparison, in plain English
We pull the quotes into one document. Strengths, weaknesses, where the numbers stack up, where they don’t.
Management, made crystal clear
How your project gets run day to day, and how much procurement you’re handling. No grey areas.
Contract agreement, properly explained
We get you and your Pager on the same page about JCT terms, variations and extensions of time. Vital. Underestimated.
The document most homeowners never see
- Cuts the risk of misunderstandings with your Pager
- Controls costs and variations through the project
- Improves scheduling and procurement coordination
- Provides legal and contractual protection
A genuine like for like, not a guessing game
- Genuine apples to apples price comparison
- Non price factors laid out alongside the numbers
- A real opportunity to negotiate with quoting Pagers
- Far fewer hidden costs once the build kicks off
Get clarity on every aspect of your renovation
What day to day management looks like
Who’s on site, how often, and how decisions get made.
How much procurement you’re handling
What’s on your plate, what’s on theirs. No assumptions.
Aligned on the contract terms that matter
Variations, extensions of time, the bits people skip.
Clear on what The Page is doing through the build
In the group chat, on the weekly call, sense checking variations.

I’m very grateful to The Page for connecting me to such a good builder and supporting me through the entire project start to finish. This was the first renovation project we’ve done and I’m really happy with everything, so I feel very lucky. Thomas helped me look beyond the numbers (tricky!) and guided me through our contract and other decision making. Cheers guys.

During previous renovation works, we had a difficult experience with the chosen tradespeople where the costs spiralled and the work wasn’t the standard we were hoping for. This meant we were quite nervous about approaching what was a bigger, more complicated project. We were told about The Page, who got in touch immediately to chat through the brief and address any concerns we had. They suggested three builders at different price points and really supported us through the selection process, also going through the quote with us to ensure it was appropriate and pointed out where costs could change. They provided invaluable advice.

I received a visit from my architect’s building arm, which used whichever of their pool of contractors happened to be free. I was looking for something more personal to help me find the right contractor for me. Thomas took the time to read through the request I sent and really dig into which of their network may be best. The Page team were helpful, knowledgeable and were a great sounding board throughout the build.

The Page gave us the knowledge to be able to feel confident deciding which kitchen designer to choose and most importantly, which fitter to go with. They helped us with the design and offered us their own fitter but we decided to use a fitter we found through The Page, as it allowed for more flexibility, quickly getting a number of competitive quotes from trusted contractors (rather than only one choice at Magnet), and to add on some extra jobs (painting, floorboard sanding/refinishing, custom carpentry etc). Having one contractor to cover the whole job made project management much less of a headache.
