The homeowner relied on Pager Geri’s eye for design and detail to bring this stunning space to life
Project brief
We bought a very rundown house that we wanted to extend, which also needed the whole renovation works! Gutting the inside, converting the bathrooms, plus redoing all the electrics and plumbing.
We really wanted a builder we could trust, with good referrals, who we knew we were going to get on with – they were going to be in our life for a while! Geri had a bank of really good references and great examples of work. Being able to go to his clients homes and actually see the quality of the finish, and meet the people who he’s worked with was so helpful.
Once we’d met Geri and got to know him there wasn’t anything we felt was missing or that we needed; we didn’t use an architect. We had some advice from architects, but we had a good idea of design and space already and didn’t have the budget. We got our ideas drawn up and had some help with admin, like building regulations and the party wall notices.
“Geri gave us a clear schedule of work with a lot of detail. With some other builders it felt like they were trying to win the project and other costs might have crept in, but with Geri we went through and understood the quote line line by line. We mapped out key milestones, when certain things were completed that correlated to payments, and we met on-site regularly, which was really helpful. I love the kitchen and the bathrooms in particular, and it’s so nice feeling like you’ve put your own stamp on somewhere. But the renovation process felt really collaborative with Geri, he has such an eye for it, and he was so honest with us when he knew something was going to look really bad! So it really felt like he was invested in the end result and what it was going to look like. When he came round for snagging he even added some things to the list as he didn’t think they were perfect.”
