We’d bought a Victorian terrace in Tooting that had spent years as a house share, functional in the loosest sense, but a long way from a proper family home. We wanted to change that meaningfully: a single-storey rear extension to open up the back of the house, a full kitchen remodel centred around a kitchen-diner that connected to the garden, and a downstairs WC brought up to scratch. Not a quick freshen-up, but a genuine transformation.
What we needed was a builder who understood the difference between getting the job done and getting it right. Finding someone with the right experience, the right attitude, and a track record we could actually trust felt overwhelming. We didn’t know where to start. There was 1 instance where they made a mistake with some tiling, but Altin acknowledged the mistake and offered to relay it all and pay for the replacement tiles so it didn’t impact us at all – we were very impressed as in my experience a lot of builders would not do this!
