I’d just bought my first flat, a mansion block in Maida Vale, and from the moment I got the keys I knew I wanted to do it properly. The previous owners had been there a long time and while the bones were good, everything needed updating. I wanted it to feel like a home I was really proud of, not just somewhere that had been tidied up.

The scope ended up being the whole flat; kitchen, bathrooms, WC, living room, bedrooms, fitted joinery throughout. It was a lot to take on as a first-time buyer and I’d been warned about all the ways a renovation could go wrong. Finding the right builder felt daunting, and I didn’t really know where to start.

Someone referred me to The Page and I’m so glad they did.
